Dee Dee

D D let go of life
And like a kite
She went up
Into skies

Where light never
Ceases to shine

Happier now by far
She knows how much
Priscilla loved her mother
Resting in peace for tomorrow

D D knows that her daughter and husband
Will visit her again someday and
They will revisit each and
Every nuance of their
Long hopeful lives

The Moon

So mysterious and profoundly situated
Orbiting our planet it occasionally
Blocks out all the midday light

Changing noon into a short
Night of unmitigated fear

An uninhibited siren calls for sacrifice
Unhinged natives seek the weak
To spill their blood for god

Changing peace into another
Series of injured children

Until the Greeks invented ergot laced
Beers and wine for great Elysian
Parties satiating every mind

Changing murder into a dance
Jumping for the joy of love

Parker James

Never give a fool an even chance
Given enough rope by friends
We usually hang ourselves
With it from the highest
Rafters in their house

Ghost like swinging by a noose
Populating ghoulish galleries
Turning slowly to the east
From my old spoor flies
Browns in the ground

Realizing that I’d been waiting
Staying alive just for today
You rose up exploding
Fireworks dazzling
My imagination

Your brain is an exquisite device
Opening the curtains its today
Remembering we all relate
Seamlessly to a history
In its long unfolding

Your time spun down on my dime
Holding a glass full of red wine
Linda moved off like a spider
I sat down right beside her
Sharing words we loved

Risky Business

Writing on the glass sky
In red ink drip by drip my
Blood slips out of my eyes

Running down channels to lips
Then finger tips and my pen
Detailing every instant in
Quantum atomic detail

Knowing full well it
Would go down in
The Book of Life

Write carefully
Live strong
Die well

Michael Jackson

It was just his time to die
Being released from his prison
Like a white pigeon with clipped wings
Suddenly remembering how to fly, he simply left

No needles into his heart could restart any of his vital functions
The decision had been made since the day of his birth
And even though he did so much with his life
It did little to dampen his awful slide

Apostles

When their hand touches
You feel well, again
Being anointed
By holy oil

Their tender friendships
Arranged around you

Recreates the Tabernacle
Filled with Holy Spirit

Directing an unseen light
Deep into old wounds

Where its touch brings
New life and vigor
