Dee Dee

D D let go of life
And like a kite
She went up
Into skies

Where light never
Ceases to shine

Happier now by far
She knows how much
Priscilla loved her mother
Resting in peace for tomorrow

D D knows that her daughter and husband
Will visit her again someday and
They will revisit each and
Every nuance of their
Long hopeful lives

My 92 year old neighbor, Dee Dee, just died a few hours ago and this is the poem I wrote for her daughter Priscilla and DD's son-in-law Steve.
